So I have a response to the Butterfly Project. This is something that hit close to me as someone who was a self harming years back and even up until last year. I extended this simply from cutters because this goes for more than just those who break skin. I am currently 24 and have celebrated almost a year of any harm whatsoever. I took back my knives half a year ago when I finally felt strong enough to keep them in my presence. However I feel this project has hazards.
Apologies for the poor vid quality, the bad hair and the double chin!! Was late when I did this and it didn’t load properly last night, also my netbook webcam sucks without a good light.
I am going to an Indian wedding next Friday. I am making the two blouses to wear with my Saris. This one is red and is for the Nikkah ceremony. This fancier sari will be for the entire day.
This was a kirtle that I created for myself. It is a comfortable and very relaxed garment that working women wore during many era. It’s simple to make and is made of a few metal bones and linen. Circa 2011
A bodice that was commissioned by a client in 2010. This was my first bodice or costume done 100% from scratch. Pattern was created by measurements only, and the color scheme was my own.
My first actual show piece, done in emerald green silk and black coutil shell. Metal bones hand cut by myself. Circa 2011. Right before I cut my hair, oh Gods the two tone look!
